To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every several weeks. Upgrades can cost more based on the level of the item, but they will always be cheaper than purchasing new gear. For instance upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points, while purchasing the same item from a different player will cost 105. Valorstones Upgrades are items that can be used for weapons, armor, tools and accessory upgrades. They can be bought by players from NPCs who sell upgrades for items in exchange for a variety of currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor. The button will display a preview of an item's next level of upgrade, when there are enough materials. Upgrade costs vary depending on the slot for the item and the current level of the item. For instance weapons are more expensive than bracers, or gloves. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones and a few crests, with some upgrades having a discount to reduce the cost of Flightstones or crests that are used. Once an item is upgraded to a certain amount, it can be downgraded and sold to the upgrader for a lower price. Many locations have upgraders for their items in addition to the main island and a few outposts. The NPCs provide an upgrade discount and a chance to obtain a new upgrade recipe. The discount for upgrading increases when more items are upgraded. It can be increased by having players complete certain achievements or quests. Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at the start, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. Instead the NPCs that are available to facilitate upgrades require several methods which is both an improvement as well as a disadvantage. In Season 3, several new features were added to the upgrade system. Once an upgrade has been completed to a certain level of item for an armor slot, upgrading other items to the same level will cost less. This is true even if the items come from another set of equipment. The discount is available to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is reduced also, but is only available once certain milestones are reached. Crests Players have several choices when it comes to upgrading their equipment in WoW. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to all players for upgrading. Crests are more specific and are utilized during specific level upgrades for items. Crests are a crucial element of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System introduced in version 10.1. They are available in four ranks. First, you should know that crests are only available for gear that is of a particular rank. Each rank has an upgrade path that is different. It is recommended to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the top-quality equipment you can find, and save Drake and Wyrm Crests to be used for the next set of upgrades. This is especially true for items like trinkets and rings that occupy multiple slots on the character which can only be eligible to take advantage of the discount for all accounts when all of the slots are filled with high-quality equipment.
